I scheduled a striping job tonight, but had no idea this was what I'd be working on... I love my job!
I like this a lot.
600 cubic inches... 1,000 horsepower!

1975 Dodge Big Horn... A tribute for a friend...
This one was very bitter sweet to work on.
A very good customer of mine bought this truck. Sercombe Trucking is based in Jackson MI. It is owned by brothers Jim and Tom Sercombe. David is Jim's oldest son and encouraged Jim to buy this tractor to show... about 3 weeks later, David unexpectedly passed away. Jim asked me to help him finish the truck in David's honor. They gave it a new coat of paint, fenders, some more chrome and polished aluminum... and some hand lettering by me...
Jim and David are way more than just customers. They have become very good friends. I am so sorry for the loss of David for the Sercombe family... I'm sure this truck is both a joy and hard to look at.

Model A door...
I went to a swap meet a few weeks ago and found this door. My Dad has a 1931 Ford Model A pickup that we grew up with, so I just couldn't resist buying a door...
She's all lettered up and on display in my Dad's farm's office.
Old and the new... :)\
1965 Ford Fairlane
I've started going to swap meets and setting up displays... It has been a very effective marking concept. I met this customer there and had a lot of fun working on his project...
An oldy but a goody...
Dad and Ray decided to give an old truck a new coat of paint. This was bought new in 1985 by the farm... I had fun re-lettering it. :)

'69 Ford...
I helped a new friend finish his truck today...
By the end of the afternoon this is what she looked like.
I lettered it with some "worn" techniques. It really turned out sharp.
Can't miss a good photo op with a customer's vehicle. :)

1948 Ford Panel...
I finished this 1948 Ford panel truck. This truck is a loose re-production of my customer's Dad's truck from 1948. He was very happy with it, and I had a ton of fun doing it. This is ALL paint. No vinyl at all.
Star updated...
Star has a new owner, and thankfully they gave me a shot at lettering. The new owners wanted to "tone down" a little. All of the lettering is now printed on reflective material. They are changing the color of the trucks to black, so I suggested reflective for safety sake. They wanted the front and rears covered in safety chevron as well.
This shows what a camera flash does with the reflective chevron...
This shows no flash... the truck looks "normal" by day light...
This is with a camera flash. The lettering "explodes" at nightWednesday, August 6, 2014
Some antiques...
These trucks were so fun to work on. I lettered them just like they did 100 years ago... Tape measure, string, pencil, paint and brush. I love my job!

Star Towing's Rotator...
Star Towing in Monroe Michigan gave me a call when they got a new rotator this winter. I've been lettering trucks for them since 2001, and have enjoyed working with them all of these years. This one is the largest truck in their fleet.
