'31 Ford Model A Five Window Coupe...

I had some fun with paint today! I got this job from displaying at Autorama. I think they will have me again, I should go. :)
All of the striping was "distressed." I mix about 90% flat clear with 10% paint to come up with a very weak stripe job that looks like it's about 40 years old.

 This one was fun!

Duvall Farms...

This was a simple stripe job on a truck that was already lettered. 3 1/2 hours in this one...

Fence Row Hoe

This is all hand painted.... I didn't name it, just lettered it...

Loma Trucking...

This is all hand painted... 14 hours worth.

Iron Butterfly...

This is all hand painted to look old. The flames are about 40 years old, the rest of the car has been updated and painted...

Rays Septic

I remember seeing these trucks in the Monroe County Fair Parade when I was a little boy, always the sharpest trucks in town. Gary did all of his trucks before moving south... All hand painted.

Some vinyl...

I try to promote my paint work, because it's my thing... but I do a lot of vinyl work as well. Here are quite a few different jobs...

Parade toy... (a little Astro)

This is what I started with, the engine was shot with no available parts, so it needed a new drive train installed.
 First I stretched the frame...
Then I made the shape of the van...
 I'm getting closer...
 Started paint...
 Flames. :)
 Kind of looks familiar...
 I think I nailed it! :)
Here's the final pay off...

I ended up using a 6.75 HP Briggs and Stratton electric start engine off a self propelled lawn mower. Then I got a hydro transaxle out of a little lawn tractor, I don't even know what brand. I only wanted this project for parades, and I figured a hydro was the way to go, infinite speed, reverse, and brakes all in one lever... I also installed a small alternator to keep the battery charged.

I plan on putting a few horns and some strobe lights for parades... :)

Everything fit in perfect. I was so surprised how smoothly it went.

She runs at a brisk walking pace. It's almost hard to keep up with it without jogging.

The first parade is this Saturday, my son Eli can't wait. :)

More later,
Kurt
